Our Commitment
We are committed to bringing advanced medical treatments to Saskatchewan residents. Dr. Sharma offers specialized corneal surgery and procedures, and Dr. Wong is the only neuro-ophthalmologist in the province, eliminating the need for patients to seek care outside Saskatchewan for these conditions.

Dr. Vikas Sharma
Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology
- Dr. Vikas Sharma is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialty training in Cataract, Cornea and Refractive Surgery. With over two decades of experience, he specializes in advanced refractive and corneal surgeries, including LASIK, PRK, laser presbyvision, and corneal cross-linking (CXL). Dr. Sharma is recognized as the only physician in Saskatchewan offering Topography-guided Custom Ablation Treatment (TCAT) and CXL for patients with irregular corneas, such as those with keratoconus.
- Dr. Sharma completed his medical education at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences in New Delhi, India. He furthered his training with a fellowship in cataract and corneal surgery at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital and Southampton General Hospital in England.
- In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Sharma serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Saskatchewan. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmic education.
- Dr. Sharma was instrumental in establishing Canada’s first dry eye centre of excellence, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies such as TearLab, LipiFlow Thermal Pulsation System, and intense pulsed light therapy.
- He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Melody Wong
Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology
- Dr. Melody Wong is an Assistant Professor and Neuro-Ophthalmologist in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Saskatchewan. She earned her medical degree and completed her Ophthalmology residency training at the University of Saskatchewan before pursuing fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia.
- Dr. Wong is passionate about providing comprehensive and neuro-ophthalmologic care in her home province of Saskatchewan. In addition to her clinical work, she is dedicated to educating the next generation of medical professionals, teaching both ophthalmology and neurology residents, as well as medical students.
- She is actively involved in the development and expansion of neuro-ophthalmology services in Saskatchewan, including the establishment of the Post-Stroke Visual Impairment Clinic, advancing low vision services, and facilitating the diagnosis of genetic ocular diseases.
- She is currently affiliated with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Ophthalmological Society and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society.
- Dr. Wong’s current research interests focus on the integration of artificial intelligence and optical coherence tomography (OCT) analysis to enhance the early detection of neurologic diseases. Through her clinical practice and research, she aims to improve patient care and outcomes in the field of neuro-ophthalmology.

Dr. Shreyasi Sharma

- Dr. Shreyasi Sharma is a dedicated and highly skilled rheumatologist practicing in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. With a passion for improving the lives of patients with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, Dr. Sharma specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders.
